Let's Draw & Make Stained Glass: Interesting Patterns 2

Please read first!

Here are the patterns I had been working on before September 11.  For each one, I made my own stained glass image.  Feel free to click on that to see the full size image.  I put them on black backgrounds so the glass would stand out.  If you don't have Paint Shop Pro or you don't know how to work in layers, you will have to download the gif file to make stained glass from.  Remember, if you download the gif file, you have to make your own soder lines.  Do this by:

Click on a black line anywhere on the image.  Go to Selections/Modify/Select Similar.  This will select all the black lines.  Next: Go to Selections/Modify/Expand.  Expand by 1 pixel.  Add a new layer and flood fill the selected area with white and then apply the Pewter preset from Blade Pro.

Here are some specific directions for some of these designs:

Worm:  Apple border: Select the black lines on the background layer.  To make sure you get them all, go to Selections/Modify/Select Similar.  Add a new layer.  Selections/Modify/Expand by 1 pixel.  Flood fill with white.  Apply Blade Pro Pewter preset.  Go back to the background layer.   Select inside the apple.  Copy glass pattern.  Edit/Paste Into Selection.

Leaf, Worm, Eyes and Mouth:  Do not expand the black lines.  Simply select and flood fill with white.  Apply Blade Pro Pewter Preset.  On the outside of the mouth, use Inner Bevel/Metalic on the red border.  You can use the same glass pattern for the inside of the mouth that you use for the eye pupils.

Balloons:  Select the black lines on the background layer.  To make sure you get them all, go to Selections/Modify/Select Similar.  Add a new layer.  Selections/Modify/Expand by 1 pixel.  Flood fill with white.  Apply Blade Pro Pewter preset.  Go back to the background layer.   Choose glass for ballons.  Copy a glass pattern, then select the balloon.  Then Edit/Paste Into Selection.  Make sure when you are selecting a balloon to not miss the bottom of the balloon if that applies.

White spots on balloons:  Select one of the white spots.  Hold down the shift key and select the others.  Add a new layer.  Selections/Modify/Expand by 1 pixel.  Copy a light glass pattern.  Make your balloon image active again.  Go to Edit/Paste Into Selection.  Leave the spots selected.  Invert the selection.  Then Selections/Modify/Expand by 1 pixel.  Go to Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur 1.  This will soften the highlight spots so they look more natural.

Jewish Star:   Select the black lines on the background layer.  To make sure you get them all, go to Selections/Modify/Select Similar.  Add a new layer.  Selections/Modify/Expand by 1 pixel.  Flood fill with white.  Apply Blade Pro Pewter preset.  Go back to the background layer.   Choose either the blue or yellow sections and get them all by going to Selections/Modify/Select Similar.  Copy your glass pattern.  Activate your star pattern again.  Edit/Paste Into Selection.
