Making Fantasy Images Examples

This is the full size finished image from the tutorial.

Ok....I admit it.  This is the strangest one that I did.  I pasted the landscape at the top of the transparent image.  I used the deform tool and squished it up some more making the road not so long.  I selected the bottom area with the wand, cropped one of the waterfall images and copied it.  I went to edit, paste, paste into selection on a new layer.  I added another new layer, used the square selection tool and made a short box along the top of the waterfall which I filled with black. I added some texture, then blurred and softend the black line. I went back to the landscape layer and selected the road using the freehand selection tool.  I opened a space image and filled the area with that.

I colored the landscape like I did in the tutorial.  I added a new layer and pasted the train object on.  Once again I used the deform tool to change its size.  The soften tool was used to smooth the area between the bottom of the train and the ground.  On a new layer, I added a planet, deformed it and moved it under the black line area so it dipped into the water.  I added one more planet at the top. I used the freehand selection tool to select the part of the planet over the mountain and deleted it. Then I used the soften tool to remove any jagged edges. There you go.  I'm not sure what it is, but it looks interesting and I had fun playing with it!

This is a very simple and quick fantasy image.  I simply used the earth space background, selected the top black sky, copied the fish and pasted into the selection.  Viola!
