I got this idea from looking at a tutorial using PhotoShop and thought Paintshop Pro users might like it too...You can view their website by click Here. You will need a couple of things to do this tutorial and I figured I would provide them now so you can get them all set up for when we are ready to use them. First we need the Film Strip Tube and the Square Tube. You can click on the image to download it. you can also make your own square, but I just thought while I was zipping them up, I might as well add it too. Now you will need a picture. You will want it to where you can just take the person and not the background. So think of this when deciding what picture to use. I am going to use this one of my little girl.
We will be going through every step for this tutorial including cutting out your person. So this tutorial might be long, but it should be thorough, that is if I do it right. Now we will start by cutting out the person in your image. To do this we are going to be using our lasso tool. Start the outlining your image using these settings.
When your done outlining your image, you should have the marching ants all the way around. Like the example below.
Now go up to Edit, copy, and then paste as a new image. At this time I enlarged my canvas so I could have more room to add a background and frame. I made my canvas 325 x 300. I think that will give me room to play. Now we are going to add a new layer, call this one "Background" and move it under your first layer.
Now we are going to flood fill this layer. You may flood fill it with whatever design you would like I am flood filling it with a Sunburst Gradient. Your image should look something like this now.
Now go up to Layers, Merge, Merge All (Flatten). These tutorials are a ©copyright of Leigh. They may not be reproduced or copied to any other website without written persmission of the author. Please contact us if you have questions. Tutorials @ Graphic Buds. |
