Making A Country Bed
Ruffles: Page 3

Now did you place your 3 different shaped pleats in the correct position?  Is the second set, more narrow pleats, the top layers?  Click on the first one and apply a Drop Shadow, settings below.
Then click on the second narrow pleat and apply the same Drop Shadow.  Then click on the third narrow pleat and again apply the same Drop Shadow.

Okkkkk........let's go backwards.  While the third narrow pleat is still active, apply the Drop Shadow again with the settings shown below.  Then make the second narrow pleat active and apply the same Drop Shadow.  Then make the first narrow pleat active and apply the same Drop Shadow.

You can play with your arrangement some at this point and make some pleats higher or lower than the others.  You want the ruffles around the bottom of the bed to look as real and natural as possible.  Once you like how your arrangement looks, delete the pink ruffle layer.  Now Merge Visible Layers.

Copy and paste as a new layer on your bed image. Copy and paste a second time as a new layer.  Name these layers ruffle front 1 and ruffle front 2.  You can adjust the two layers so one is a bit higher or lower than the other layer.

Open your Layer Palette window.  Move these two ruffle layers below all the baseboard layers.  While you are in there, delete the front ruffle layer, the pink one from the template.

Now don't they look pretty?  Your bed is really coming together!
Do the side ruffles in the same manner as you made your front ruffles.........or.........
