Making Wall Unit 1

Open a new transparent image, 400x400.  You are going to need some room to work.  Use the capital A from the Boxes.ttf.  Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard for this.  Make sure you still have your text set for Vector/Antialias.  On the Styles swatches, use wood01.jpg as the Foreground/Stroke.  For the Background/Fill, use the PSP7 Stained Wood.  When you apply the text, keep the text tool active as you stretch your unit.  For this one you don't want to go higher than half of the 400 pixels.  You are going to add two shelves to the top.  Convert the Vector Layer to a Raster Layer.  Carefully select the top portion/shelf of your unit.

Copy and paste this as a new layer twice.  Now zoom in and line up the shelves.
When they are lined up, Merge Visible Layers.

Activate the Magic Wand and click on the background.
Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and select each of the 6 open areas.
Now Invert the Selection.

Effects/3D/Inner Bevel/Frame Preset.

Use the Magic Wand and select the 3 cabinet areas.
Selections/Modify/Expand.  Expand by 2 pixels.
Switch your swatches and Flood Fill with the Stained Wood.

Effects/3D/Inner Bevel/Bead Preset.

And here is your finished wall unit.  Be sure to decorate your shelves!

Hey!  I have a few more "twists" left in me, a fancy wall unit!
