I'm going to show you three different doors with each showing you a different twist. And then we will make our first set of knobs and handles. The important thing to remember with the doors is to stretch the ding taller than it is wider. Fat doors don't really look good! I'm going to assume you were well behaved and you did the filing cabinet first so I don't have to show you every single screen capture from now on?
Let's start with what's behind door number 1........er........making door number 1 that is. For this one I used the numeral 3 from the Boxes.ttf. Open a new transparent image, 300x400. Set up your Styles with your wood patterns, in this case I'm using the PSP7 pattern Stained Wood. Since this is a tall door rather than a wide piece of furniture like a dresser, I rotated the wood pattern so that it was vertical. Make sure your text is set to Vector/Antialias.
Stretch the vector text so that is looks much like the image below. After you stretch out your text, deselect and convert to a Rastor Layer.

Select the Magic Wand tool. First click on the background. Now hold down the Shift key on the keyboard. Click in the other open areas one by one as shown below. When they are all selected, Invert the Selection. Go to Effects/3D/Inner Bevel. Use the Soft edge preset.

Once again activate the Magic Wand. Click once inside the outer wood frame of the door. Go to Selections/Modify/Expand. Expand the selection by 2 pixels. Go to Effects/3D/Inner Bevel. Apply the Groove preset.

Change the the top Styles Pattern to Cracked Emerald. Activate the Magic Wand and click on one of the empty inner panels of the door. Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and click in the other panel. Flood fill with the Cracked Emerald.

Leave the panels selected. Invert the selection. Go to Effects/3D/Outer Bevel. Use the Groove Preset. Now you can deselect and your basic door is done.

After we finish the next two doors, we'll put on knobs and handles.
