Creating & Working With Vector Templates 3

Hey!  It's almost done.  Just the door handles are left.  Now repeat after me.......add a new vector layer.  Pick new Styles colors.  Put down your node points with the draw tool for the top of the handle.  Now add another new vector layer, change the Styles colors and put down the node points for the bottom of the handle.  Once you have straight lines on both of these vector layers, you can go back and forth to get them the same width.  Once again you can test this with the selection tool.

This next part is important if you want to copy a vector layer and have it on a new vector layer.  Why do you want each vector section on its own layer?  Well.......try having two sections on the same vector layer.  Select just the one you want to get rid and hit delete.  Ut oh!  Everything poofs!  Sooooooo........you have to have each vector section on its own vector layer.  First, copy the top part of your handle.  Then add a new vector layer.  Now go to Edit/Paste/As New Vector Selection.  Voila!

Don't panic!  It doesn't paste like you are used to.  See the image below on the left?  That's how it first looks.  Now click the mouse.  There we go!  It appears.  And it is active to edit the nodes.  Hit Select None on your toolbar......did you put it there?

Now I have my whole vector template done.  Save file, .psp format.  You will get this message:

Say Yes.  Close the file and then open it back up and open the Layer Palette.  See?  Your vector layers are still there.

PSP7 Basic Class.  Stop here!
Send in the psp file with the vector layers.  The next steps are covered in the advanced full PSP7 classes.
You will be doing some lessons that will require a finished vector image.
