After filling the back of the fridge with the gradient, I decide the back is too big. Clicking on the back with the Node Edit tool, I use the method shown of page 1 to squeeze in the back section. But now the original background of the clipart fridge is starting to bother me.

In the Layer Palette, make the Background layer active. Once it is active, use Select All to select the entire background. Use the Eyedropper to pick the pink color for your top Styles box on your Color Palette. Flood fill the entire background. Voila! No more clipart fridge to distract me.

Now it's time to do the handles. I have chosen to use a black Stroke and a gray Fill for the tops of the handles. For the bottom of the handles I make them solid black. Now it's time save this file with a new file name and convert those vector layers. This is very easy to do from the Layer Palette. Just right click on each vector layer in the Layer Palette. Use the menu option to Convert to Raster Layer. And do be sure you have saved this with a new file name so you don't lose your Vector Template.

Now that your layers are Raster layers, you can add effects such as beveling. I used both Inner Bevel and Outer Bevel to finish up my fridge. You can now apply all these basics to any piece of clipart or even a photo. There are clipart images provided to practice with, and take a look at the Shelving.
