Advanced Floor Making

Before you start working on these various flooring tutorials, I want to review a few basics you will need to know.

Freehand Select/Point to Point:  You will need to use this to select and delete angles of the flooring.  Click on the Freehand tool, the rope.  Now bring up your Tool Options.  Change the type to Point to Point.  Left click to select the points along your lines and angles.  To get the selection to release, right click.

The Deform Tool:  You can do much more than just squeeze an object down, up, in and out.  If you put the cursor over one of the squares on the corners and hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard, you get a Trapezoid over that square.  Continue to hold down the Ctrl key and move your selection around.  Look at how you can alter the perspective of the object!

To rotate with the Deform Tool, move your cursor to the right of the center of the image.  See that second square?  You will notice the circling arrows that come up.  Now you can rotate your image while holding down the left mouse button.
.

Resizing:  When resizing any of the jpgs for use as flooring or wallpaper, it's best to also use the option of bicubic resample.  It tends to give you a better image on reduction.  Note here: if resizing text, use the pixel resize.

The sections of the Tutorial includes:

1.  Building a room from the floor up.
2.  Laying horizontal wood floors.
3.  Laying vertical wood floors.
4.  Mirroring a pattern floor.
5.  Putting in a tile floor.
